Organic agriculture ensured its rapid development for the last 7 years. However it is obvious that there is mostly non-certified organic agriculture in the developing countries. The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) and Ecolgy and Agricultural Union have collected and systematize the information about organic agriculture in the world since 1999. International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) who has 700 members in 108 countries in the world has joined to this project since 2003. The meanwhile, this collection contains information about organic agriculture development in Azerbaijan.

 

Currently 120 countries are engaged in organic crop production in the world. Organic farming expands to 35 million hectares worldwide and more than 630 thousand farms are managed organically based on the latest surveys conducted.
